Mizuno unveils its latest putter – the M.Craft X

Published

on

Mizuno Golf has today introduced its most advanced putter to date – the M.Craft X.

The M.Craft X is designed to offer the refined feel of a blade putter while maintaining the forgiveness of a mallet. This duality is achieved through a shallow center of gravity (CG) that replicates the swing dynamics of a traditional blade, in a bid to enhance control and finesse. Simultaneously, the larger mallet-style head is designed to ensure stability and forgiveness on off-center strikes.

Customization is at the core of the M.Craft X, allowing golfers to fine-tune their setup with precision. Three neck styles—plumber, slant, and bend — cater to different putting strokes and alignment preferences.

Additionally, golfers can choose from three distinct back shapes to optimize balance and stability while achieving their desired head shape for enhanced alignment. Interchangeable weights— 7g, 14g, and 21g —provide further adjustability, allowing players to tailor the feel and swing dynamics of the putter.

The new putter from Mizuno features a forged face and neck made from a single piece of 1025 steel, in design to provide exceptional feel and responsiveness.

The CNC-milled face delivers consistency across the striking surface, in a bid to offer dependable roll and precise speed control. An aerospace-grade milled aluminum back enhances stability and increases the putter’s moment of inertia (MOI), in design to deliver forgiveness without sacrificing tactile feedback.

The M.Craft X putter is equipped with a Lamkin Sink Fit grip adorned with a 1906 mosaic pattern — a tribute to the year Mizuno was founded. This intricate pattern is also featured on the headcovers, symbolizing over a century of innovation and craftsmanship.

The M.Craft X is available from February 3 at select retailers and online at Mizuno Golf.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
