Putters used by the top 5 golfers in strokes gained: putting
What do the best putters on the PGA Tour putt with? Depending on your handicap (and whether you’re on the plus side of that ledger) this information may or may not be valuable to your game or equipment purchasing decisions. Nevertheless, for GolfWRXers, it’s always interesting to see the tools of the very best craftsmen. Better yet when you can get in-hand photos of said players’ putters.
With the calendar year winding down, let’s take a look at the leaders in strokes gained: putting and their weapons of choice.
5. Taylor Pendrith

4. Denny McCarthy

3. Mackenzie Hughes

2. Max Greyserman

1. Taylor Montgomery

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Wait no L.A.B. putters? How can that be, the LAB fanboys tell us everyone should have a LAB.

If you were .500 or better putting over the PGA field, you too could use a bent stick and some hockey tape to putt.
But since you’re not, a LAB would statistically improve your greens scores. Too bad you’re clearly just too full of yourself to accept it.
