L.A.B Golf unveils new OZ.1 putter collection
L.A.B. Golf has today announced the launch of the OZ.1 putter collection. OZ.1 will be available in two models: OZ.1i that features the company’s first putter face insert, and OZ.1, which uses an all-aluminum construction.

The OZ.1 was developed in collaboration with 32-time tour winner Adam Scott. The partnership began in early 2023, with Scott sharing personal design goals that guided the development of OZ.1’s half-moon, solid-body construction.
“We’ve always challenged ourselves to develop putters that resonate with world-class golfers while retaining all the performance benefits of Lie Angle Balance. Collaborating with Adam Scott was an inspiring and rewarding process for our team, and it provided invaluable insights into the nuances of shape, feel, sound, and performance from one of the most experienced and respected players on the PGA Tour.” – Sam Hahn, CEO of L.A.B. Golf
OZ.1i vs. OZ.1

In the OZ.1i, “i” stands for insert. It features an aluminum body that is mechanically bonded to a fly-milled, medium-depth stainless steel insert in design to offer a firmer feel and faster ball speeds. OZ.1i is for golfers who prefer a responsive impact and the sleek look of insert putters.

For those favoring a softer feel, the one-piece, all-aluminum OZ.1 provides a similar experience to L.A.B. Golf’s best-selling DF3. Both OZ.1i and OZ.1 share the same size and shape, with the only difference being the face construction.
The OZ.1i and OZ.1 Custom models introduce a new 0-Degree (Vertical) Shaft Lean option, giving golfers the option of a vertical shaft at address and compatibility with standard grips.

Both models are also available with a 2-Degree Shaft Lean option, similar to the DF3, which pairs well with L.A.B. Golf’s Press Grip options.
The Custom versions of the OZ.1i and OZ.1 models extend L.A.B. Golf’s industry-leading customization offerings. By choosing an OZ.1i or OZ.1 Custom putter, golfers can select their preferred length, lie angle, head weight, color, alignment marking, shaft, shaft lean, and grip, ensuring that each putter is tailored to the individual.
OZ.1 Special Edition

In honor of Adam Scott’s contributions to L.A.B. Golf, the company has also launched OZ.1 Special Edition. This limited-edition release features L.A.B. Golf’s exclusive POLY ROO graphic on the sole, a tribute to Scott’s Australian heritage.

The green putters include a custom L.A.B. Golf x TPT Golf putter shaft with cream-colored graphics, a Seamus Golf headcover with a sheep wool interior, and packaging adorned with 32 L.A.B. Golf logos to celebrate Scott’s tour victories.

The OZ.1 Special Edition is now available at www.labgolf.com. The OZ.1i Custom and OZ.1i Stock models are expected to launch in December 2024, with OZ.1 Custom and OZ.1 Stock versions following in January 2025.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
