Spotted: Srixon ZXi fairway woods and hybrids
Srixon looks to have some new clubs coming in 2025 as we saw Hideki Matsuyama with a new driver at the Tour Championship and new irons a few weeks ago.
This week, Grace Kim looks to have a new fairway wood and hybrid in her bag for the 2024 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on the LPGA Tour. It looks like these two clubs have the same ZXi naming that we saw in the driver and irons, but we don’t have any official details from Srixon on the new clubs yet.
Srixon ZXi Fairway
This 3-wood looks to have a carbon fiber crown for some weight distribution and an adjustable hosel for dialing in the loft and lie for the player. It will be interesting to see if only the 3-wood gets the adjustable hosel or if the rest of the line does too.
Also, Srixon’s Rebound Frame technology is back for controlling the flex of the head and the face is marked with “i-Frame” for added ball speed.
Kim’s club has “V2” and “Toe” written in silver Sharpie on the sole so this must be the second version of the head or build. I would guess that the toe reference is to hot melt weighting inside the head.

Srixon ZXi Hybrid
I love seeing that this new ZXi hybrid has an adjustable hosel on it, this gives you the ability to really dial in the performance needed to fit a specific gap at the top of the bag.
The shape is more rounded and fits with the past few versions of Srixon hybrids. Srixon went with a matte black finish on this and we don’t see any carbon fiber poking through so this could be an all-steel head.
Like the ZXi fairway, we see that the hybrid is using Rebound Frame and i-Flex technology for pushing more ball speed out of the head.
Turf interaction should be smooth and fast as it looks like only the center of the club should be in contact with the ground.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Look great, but wish they would lose the step down crown.

I’d play the hybrid. Maybe end up with more Srixons in the bag over time.
