Tiger Woods WITB 2024 (July)

  • Tiger Woods WITB accurate as of The Open Championship. Per TaylorMade, Woods has swapped his TaylorMade M3 5-wood for the P770 2-iron he had in the bag at the U.S. Open. The 15-time major champion has also added a healthy amount of lead tape to the cavity of his putter. As we learned Wednesday, Woods has switched from a 10.5 degree Qi10 LS to a 9-degree model.

    It’s certainly true that Tiger has used a Ping “blackout” putter grip for just about his entire adult life. Even, it was said, blacking out the white Ping logo printing with a Sharpie before Ping made the blackout models.

    But hey; that’s not a blackout grip in the picture, and I presume that the picture depicts accurately what Tiger has this week in Ayreshire. So actually the interesting thing might just be that after decades of using a Ping blackout grip, Tiger is now using a grip that shows the world it is really a Ping.
