Toulon Golf unveils latest Small Batch putter – the Texas
Toulon Golf has today officially announced its latest Small Batch putter — the Texas.
With a unique concentration of greatness that has emerged from a particular place in the United States, Texas, Toulon aimed to honor some of these incredible players, paying tribute to them with the brand’s most important blade design and creating an individual icon for six Texan legends.
On the sole of the putter you’ll first notice the six icons. The Hawk, a Lord, an author, a prankster, a three-time winner of the green jacket, and another recently-departed Masters winner.
For the putter design itself, Toulon took inspiration from its popular Austin and La Grange models and refined and re-created the iconic blade design.
Texas features a thinner top line with chamfered edges, with an ever-so-slightly crowned top line. The putter features no ines or dots for the purpose of not pulling attention away from its shape.
The face is milled with a Super Fine Double Fly Cut pattern with the company’s Big Tuna over mill in design to enhance the sound and create a soft yet crisp feel. Under the icons you’ll also be drawn to the slow milling technique that features a white paint filled model designation of Texas.
The back cavity design includes 3 simple gold stars — a nod to the Toulon family’s three children. The putter is slow machined from our 904L Stainless Steel and finished in a sleek black.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
