Cleveland unveils new Smart Sole Full-Face wedges
Cleveland Golf has today unveiled its new Smart Sole Full-Face wedges.
Smart Sole Full-Face offers four specialized clubs, each designed for every type of short-game shot. Featuring upgraded, extra-wide Three-Tiered Sole Designs, SmartSole Full-Face wedges are designed to provide maximum forgiveness froma nywhere on the course.
Smart Sole Full-Face features the largest faces ever on Cleveland Golf wedges, with a 46% larger striking area than the previous model, along with more MOI. New alignment lines at the bottom of the clubface are designed to help golfers keep the club centered behind the ball, with a square club face at impact, to aid finding the sweet spot more often.
Each Smart Sole Full-Face model is tailored for certain situations around the green. The C model is tailored for chip shots or bump-and-runs. The G model is for full or partiala pproach shots. The S mode lis designed for easier sand saves. Rounding out the product line is an L model, engineered for high-arching shots into short-sided pin locations.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
