Our top-27 favorite Tiger Woods-Nike equipment photos, in honor of their 27-year partnership
Tiger Woods and the Swoosh – an iconic duo that helped changed the sport of golf forever – are no longer. After a 27-year partnership, Woods and Nike Golf officially parted ways, as confirmed in a post to Woods’ social media platforms on January 8, 2024.

Actually, as far as golf clubs and golf balls go, Woods’ equipment agreement with Nike Golf ended in 2016, when Nike’s golf division got out of the hard goods industry entirely. Although he was an equipment free agent for a brief period of time, Woods then signed a deal in 2017 with TaylorMade Golf to play its equipment, and Woods continues to be a TaylorMade equipment staffer today.
That being said, Woods and the Swoosh logo had quite a run together in the golf equipment world, which is cause for celebration.
In honor of Woods and Nike’s 27 year partnership, here are GolfWRX.com’s favorite 27 in-hand equipment photos, in no particular order, from 2011-2017.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

My Method 001 putter is the best putter I’ve ever used. The Vapor Pro Combo irons are as good as any iron I’ve ever played. They are not distance irons. They are precision irons that feel great. The VR Pro wedges are as good as any wedge I’ve used in 50 years of playing the game. I still game them all as well as a Vapor Fly driver, which isn’t the longest, but I hit fairways with it and manage to shoot around par. Nike made great clubs. No wonder former Hogan players signed with them. How many majors were won with Nike clubs?

Nike had a couple of decent clubs, however in general their golf equipment was not good to say the least.I won’t be missing any of their equipment. 😉
