Edison 2.0 wedge heads now available for DIY club builders
Terry Koehler’s Edison Golf announced today its 2.0 wedge heads are now available for purchase by the community of do-it-yourself club builders. The company is offering the same high-quality Edison heads used in the custom order process.
“With our first-generation Edison Forged wedges, we reacted to customer demand and made those clubheads available to the vast network of do-it-yourself club builders on our website,” said Terry Koehler, Edison founder and Director of Innovation. “We are pleased to now offer these discriminating golfers an option to be able to build their own clubs with our remarkable new Edison 2.0 wedge heads.”
About Edison 2.0 wedges
New five-times forged, Edison 2.0 wedges continue to position more mass higher in the clubhead. Owing to a multi-level back design, an additional 14-17 grams of weight have been positioned higher in the clubhead for improved smash factor across the face, particularly on shots struck higher in the face and toward the toe of the club. This is particularly helpful on full shots, Koehler says, as most amateurs wedge shots miss high and short.
Edison 2.0 wedges are also equipped with an improved version of the Koehler Sole, which Koehler originally patented over 30 years ago. Both high and low bounce areas are built into the wedge for maximum versatility and performance across a variety of swing paths.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
