Spotted: Luke List with 2 Scotty Cameron custom Circle T putters

Published

on

GolfWRX was able to spot Luke List with two Scotty Cameron Circle T putters on the practice green at the U.S. Open this week. Both heads are Scotty Cameron Circle T FB+ with center shafts. The FB+ is a similar head shape to the Super Select Fastback 1.5 that you can buy at your local golf shop.

There are a few differences with Luke’s putters, like the slightly softer bumpers and the lack of a milling line, from heel to toe, that aligns with the last bumper step. The silver-finished putter has a naked flange and a single, small, sightline on the topline of the putter. The face has a fairly deep milling to it for a softer feel and more muted sound at impact.

The sole features a large, aluminum sole plate with the Circle T logo and anodized red. Twin five grams weights are out on the toe and heel, next to the “Tour Only” and “FB+” logos that are milled and paint-filled black. The putter is finished off with a steel shaft and a previous generation Super Stroke Traxion Flatso 2.0 grip in black.

The other putter is the same FB+ head shape with a center shaft. Center-shafted putters are typically good for players with good hands and like to feel and manipulate the face during the stroke. Two long sightlines are milled into the flange, aligned with the edges of the putter cavity, for framing the ball. The topline is naked and the face has a similar deeper milling pattern as the silver putter.

The back cavity contains Scotty’s famous two cherry bombs, filled with gloss black paint. The sole on the black putter has the same red sole plate, but 10-gram weights in the toe and heel position. Like with its sibling, Luke has chosen to go with an older Super Stroke Traxion Flatso 2.0 grip, but this time in white and grey.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
