Spotted: Cameron Champ’s Ping PLD Anser longneck putters
Cameron Champ was spotted with two Ping PLD Anser putters at the 2023 Wells Fargo. Both are sporting a long plumbers neck that should remove a little of the toe hang for a more face-balanced feel. Each putter contains only a small site line on the topline of the putter for alignment and a healthy amount of lead tape on the sole! On the back of the neck of each putter, “BECKS” is etched and filled with white paint. Cameron and his wife are expecting their first child soon and they plan on using the name “Beckham”, so Becks is currently a good nickname.
The black finished putter seems to have a shallow milled face and no visible tungsten weights in the bumpers. It also has a matching black shaft installed with a Winn long 15-inch pistol putter grip.
The other putter features Ping’s patina finish that looks like a rusty brown and a much deeper milling on the face. The rear bumpers have four total tungsten weights installed, along with a lot of lead tape on the sole, to really increase the headweight. Not sure what the total weight is, but we would think much more than stock. This putter also has a steel shaft and the same putter grip installed.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
