Spotted: J.T. Poston’s custom Scotty Cameron TG6 Circle T putter at the 2023 Valspar
We spotted J.T. Poston with a new putter in the bag this week at the Valspar. The new flatstick isn’t too much different from his previous Scotty Cameron GoLo 5 that he had last year.
Poston’s new putter is a Scotty Cameron TG6 prototype that is based off the retail GoLo 6. The biggest difference is that Poston’s putter is finished in black where the retail putter has a misted silver tone. The face milling looks to be a little deeper than his previous GoLo that should give him a little softer feel.
The sole weights on the new putter are 5g each and a little lighter than the 10g weights in the old putter. We aren’t sure of the total head weight and if it is actually lighter than the previous model. Cameron’s cherry bomb markings are more abundant on this new model with 5 in the cavity and 3 on the face.
The head is made from Cameron’s TourType SSS stainless steel and contains a long black site line on the flange. The toe contains J.T.’s nickname, “Postman”, stamped into it for that personal touch.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
