In our forums, our members have been discussing smaller profile 4-woods. WRXer ‘Jt2Gt’ is on the hunt for a 4-wood that is “closer to the size of a 5 wood than a 3 wood”, and our members have been sharing their picks (including 5-woods) in our forum.

- ARSM1932: “I would suggest either the Callaway Apex UW (17 or 19 degrees) or the Cobra LTDx LS 5 wood (17.5 degrees with a very small 143cc head), I haven’t hit the Cobra yet, but the previous version (Radspeed Tour) was an amazing lower launching and low spin 5 wood which could easily be lofted down to 16.”
- mj2936: “Mizuno stz woods have a little larger and deeper head (not as large as the rogue sts). They also sit super flat which I like. I use the 5 wood turned down like a 4, and it is perfect.”

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
