Adidas launches new No-Dye footwear collection

Published

on

Adidas has today introduced its No-Dye Collection – with the upper of each shoe made entirely with the material’s natural colorway.

This no dye technology works with a material’s natural color to cut out the water-thirsty part of the process – the pre-treatment phase of conventional dye techniques, and continues Adidas’ initiative to help End Plastic Waste.

“We’re continually evaluating ways to reduce our environmental impact when it comes to our products. With this collection, we’re giving golfers another reason beyond just style and performance to feel good about the shoes they’re wearing.” – Masun Denison, global director of footwear, Adidas Golf

Adicross ZX PrimeBlue

The Adicross ZX PrimeBlue is inspired by the Originals ZX series. This no dye version features Adiwear and Traxion outsole for the grip golfers need, coupled with the signature Torsion bar for added stability. The textile upper is made with yarn containing a minimum of 50 percent Parley Ocean Plastic.

ZG21 Motion/ZG21 Motion Boa

Adidas has taken the upper of its ZG21 shoe introduced in January and have redesigned it to be made in part with recycled materials in their new ZG21 Motion/ZG21 Motion Boa. This special no-dye version will introduce another chapter for ZG21 by incorporating a textile upper made with a minimum of 50 percent recycled content.

The line also introduces a new Boa model for men and women that features a sock-like opening designed for added stability and the new PerformFitTM Wrap powered by the Boa Fit System, a ‘Y’-strap design that creates a secure fit over the instep and provides flexibility and freedom in the toe box.

The No-Dye Collection will be available worldwide on adidas.com, the Adidas app and at select retailers on Friday, August 20.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
