Honma TR20B blade irons added to Tour Release line
The Honma TR20B iron was something we originally spotted earlier this year at the 2020 PGA Show in its prototype form, and now it is officially available for purchase through Honma retailers and at Honma Experience mobile fittings.

Early Prototype TR20B with an alternative finish on muscle.
The TR20B irons round out Honma’s TR20—Tour Release 2020—line which also includes the TR20V and TR20P irons. They are a one-piece S20C forged construction to create premium feel and offer maximum shot-shaping control.
“It’s important that Honma delivers a purpose-built iron design that both fits and excites players within every skill set. With the TR20B, skilled players who rely on accuracy and true feel now have more than just another boring blade. The TR20B brings inspiration every time you pull it out of your bag or set it on the ground. It’s a thing of beauty as well as top-end performance,” – Honma’s General Manager Chris McGinley.
The blade’s design was hand-shaped by Honma’s inhouse Takumi “artisans” and bring together a traditional blade shape with a modern-day topline and sole profile. The most noticeable design characteristic is the straighter topline with low heel into hosel transition—this is a shape profile designed with the North American market in mind.

With the TR20B irons, Honma is continuing the trend of OEMs building lines of clubs with combo sets in mind. They can easily be blended with the TR20V or TR20P long irons for extra forgiveness and launch.

The TR20B irons epitomize the characteristics of a “classic blade” with a modern twist.
Specs, Price & Availability
The Honma TR20B irons are available now, come stock with Nippon Modus3 120 S shafts, and are priced at $188.00 per club.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Taylormade May have beaten Honma to the release of these irons but I’m pretty sure that Kevin Chappell has them in the bag awhile ago.

I’m so sick of Covid, this Groundhog Day is now infecting golf.
I just lived this day last week after Morikawa won.

A copy of their prototype that was out months ago? Do you have any idea how long it takes to build forging dies? If you think this is a copy… I have no words.
