GolfLogix launches Green Books: ‘Designed to help amateur golfers read greens like the pros’
GolfLogix has launched Green Books, a green-reading guide designed and priced at $40 for the everyday golfer to ‘Play Smarter’.
The rules-compliant Green Books combines detailed 3D imagery, including yardages with the green-contour data that the majority of professional golfers use in competition.

The topographical guides include three views of every hole. Quick-view heat maps outline the green’s undulations and provide arrows, which aim to help golfers identify the areas to avoid when planning approach, pitch, and chip shots.
Per the company, the use of these course management features aims to provide players with more straight, uphill birdie putts and stress-free pars. A second, close-up perspective of the green highlights the changes in elevation and direction that are often difficult to detect.

The printed guide also features yardage book-quality color images of every hole with 50-yard grids designed to help plan your tee shots and avoid the significant hazards.
Green Books mimic the GolfLogix app’s Approach Mode, aiming to allow golfers to strategically target positions on the green for their best opportunity of draining their putt.

Speaking on the new GolfLogix Green Books, President of GolfLogix Pete Charleston said
“With our foundation as a software company, we are uniquely positioned to produce these Green Books with detailed course-specific intelligence that helps golfers read greens quickly and with confidence. It was important to us to make accurate green-reading maps accessible for the everyday golfer. I’m proud to say golfers can purchase a Green Book for less than it costs to play a round of golf at most courses.”

The new addition is fully waterproof and works in conjunction with over 14,000 courses available via the app/website.
The $40 GolfLogix Green Books can be purchased here at www.Golflogix.com

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

I have it & it helps. I’ve learned things about the greens I’ve played on for 50+ years.
