Wonder when he changed shafts? Literally every shaft in the bag is different than his linked “WITB” pictures from last September. Wonder if that’s fairly
Club Reported Shaft WITB Picture

3W Ventus Black 7X Aldila NV 2KXV Green 75 TX

How does the 7 wood get down to 18 degrees? Tour Spec adapter? Specs on Ping’s website says +-1.5.

Seven wood was ridiculed by Nick Faldo during the tournament. Some sort of “real man” comment. When is he going to be punted?

I think you’re mistaken. He was impressed Thompson had one and said, “Real men have 7 woods.”

They’ve made a bid deal about this being a “38 year old Anser 4” but clearly it’s had some work done, longer flow neck, etc. Still pretty cool.

The biggest advantage is a slightly open face angle when you crank down the loft. Also, a 7 fairway has a smaller profile that may be preferred. I no longer play a traditional 3 fairway, but a Ping G400 5 adjusted to the big (-) for the these reasons.

Why is the 7 wood turned down to 18* instead of just carrying a 5 wood?

Allows the club face to sit open a couple degrees open which he must prefer with that club.
