Today from the Forums: “Clubs you regret selling?”
Today from the Forums we take a look at a thread discussing clubs which WRXers regret letting go. Forum member ‘the other two’ kicks off the discussion saying…
“Miura CB 57s….loved them when hit well, just needed something a bit more forgiving. Had them for 1 year. Keeping the Bridgestone J33CBs as a trusty old back-up set, very similar and used for over 10 plus years.
Putters:
Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Gun Blue and Oil Can….those are beautiful. 8802 Style Putter “Designed by Arnold Palmer” I bought at a garage sale for $5.”
…and our members have been informing each other of the mistakes they have made selling clubs they wish they never had.

Received the custom build which should’ve been perfect but the inner WRX’er in me requested it be tipped to the point that it felt like a piece of rebar. Ended up selling it but I do occasionally reflect back on a poor choice on that build. I should still be gaming that club.”
- Bad9: “I regret selling my Maltby KE4 ST-Fd 5w head. It was a perfect club for me as the only wood in a short set for late season use. I have a 3w, but it really doesn’t have enough loft to be reliable for me from the fairway.”

- NRJyzer: “A handful of sets that immediately come to mind…. Precept Tour Premiums, Palmer Standards (1-PW), and MacGregor PMB’s. I’ve always had a serious thing for the PTPs, unloaded them too quickly following a bad outing. Still don’t remember why I traded/sold the Palmers or the PMBs. Even bought a second set of PTPs, they didn’t stick around either. Stupidity. LOL”
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
