WRX Spotlight: Positive Vibes Golf covers
Product: Positive Vibes Golf covers
Pitch: From Positive Vibes Golf, “PVG covers are not just your average putter covers. Besides the high quality and workmanship involved they also have a purpose beneficial to your game. Our designs are based on trends of the time, food, bright colours, and generally subjects that make human being’s feel happy.”

Our take on Positive Vibes Golf covers
Established in 2018, Positive Vibes Golf is an artisan golf company based in Murcia, Spain, otherwise known as, “The golfing paradise of Europe.”
The name of the company is entirely in line with their clear and forthright philosophy, that: “Golf is a game that is played 95 percent mentally and 5 percent physically.” What PVG aims to do is to inject your bag with headcovers which contain warm, bright colors, while specifically targetting designs which generally make the human being happy, and which can also act as mental on-course training aids.
“We believe we are the only brand on the market at present that is providing products that act as on-course mental training aids.” – Rob McDougall, Positive Vibes Golf founder.
In a sport where frustration and difficulty can naturally lead to golfers succumbing to negative feelings on the course, PVG provides an important message: that enjoyment on the course should be of paramount importance. But as well as this positive message, what PVG also manages to do is to create quality products at extremely affordable prices.

There is a range of designs provided on the company’s headcovers. PVG’s “Like A Boss” cover combines sharp artwork with strong colors which complement each other greatly. The cover arrives in clean white with a very soft blood-red fleece inner lining. The detail on the cover is excellent while considering the product costs a mere $30; the strong magnetic closure was a pleasant surprise.
PVG also provide a similar themed “Boss Lady” cover for women in eye-catching pink and black colors. While all their “Boss” themed covers can be purchased for your putter, driver or fairway woods.
The brand’s smiling pig putter cover comes in three different and extremely vibrant colors of white, sunset orange and neon green, all of which contain a navy blue fleece inner lining. As with all of their products, the artwork is excellent and the covers are waterproof and stain-resistant, resulting in maximum durability at a very affordable price point.

I’ve reserved my special mention for the company’s “Winner Winner” cover, which you can get as a cover for your putter, fairway wood or driver. The cover comes in white and sunset orange, both with a gold fleece inner lining, and featuring a fun design. As well as the great mix of colors, the cover contains a superb fit, so there’s no danger of it slipping off the club at any time.

There are several unique designs and color schemes which PVG provides its customers with, and their website (PositiveVibesGolf.com) is well worth checking out as there are more than likely one or two great artworks that will catch your eye.
Ultimately, the relatively new Spain-based company delivers on their philosophy of not just providing designs to make you feel better on the course, but also providing quality at an affordable price for all golfers. The covers range in price from as little as $28 to $38, and considering the quality of the products and the uniqueness of the designs, you’d be hard-pressed to argue that they don’t provide exceptional value.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
