Bettinardi unveils New York City major-themed headcovers, players towel, and divot tool set ahead of PGA Championship
Bettinardi’s New York City major-themed headcovers go live today in the Hive at Bettinardi.com, along with the companies players towel and divot tool set.
The headcovers from Bettinardi come in both blade and mallet styles and feature the New York City subway line as their theme as well as the address “Farmingdale, New York” – the location of this week’s PGA Championship host course Bethpage Black.

Both NYC major-themed headcovers cost $80, while the players towel from Bettinardi costs $50. All items are available to purchase today at 10 AM CDT on the Hive at Bettinardi.com.
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Being a New Yorker for 58 years before retiring and leaving, I can with confidence say that this is perhaps the UGLIEST representation of what I GUESS is an NYC Bus or Subway map (it IS that bad) I WORKED for the Transit Authority for 25 years, and had to look at those maps every day!! I guess that licensing fees would have been required to even add the names of a few subway stations, so I can’t blame them for the way the “map” looks. I can just blame them for using a map “theme” in the first place.
