Bushnell launched its latest laser rangefinder, the Pro XE, at the PGA Merchandise Show.

The Pro XE introduces Slope with Elements, by which temperature and altitude have now been added to the company’s patented Slope technology for precise compensated distances.

“The Pro XE sets a new standard in laser rangefinders,” said John DeCastro, Bushnell Golf Global Product Director. “From improved optics and longer ranging, to convenience features like Visual Jolt and BITE, Pro XE offers features golfers at all skill levels can appreciate. Updating our proprietary slope algorithm and adding ‘elements’ brings unmatched precision to the industry, making it the clear choice for Tour and elite amateur players

The Pro XE’s new “Slope” Algorithm takes into account the most updated ball flight measures giving a much sharper angle of descent over the previous algorithm for an even more accurate “Plays As” distance.

Bushnell improves upon its JOLT technology with new Visual JOLT Technology: A red ring now flashes as JOLT vibrates.

The Pro XE is also equipped with a magnetic mount (referred to as BITE technology) that allows the device to be affixed to a cart bar without the need for an aftermarket accessory.

Additional Bushnell Pro XE features

  • Ranges 500+ yards to a flag
  • 7X Magnification
  • Accurate within 1 yard
  • Positive click Slope Switch (Pro XE is legal for tournament play when Slope mode is disabled)
  • Enhanced Ultra-Bright Backlight Display
  • Rubber armored metal housing
  • IPX7 Fully Waterproof
  • Newly Designed Premium Carry Case includes clip for golf bag, belt loop attachment and velcro
  • golf bag strap attachment

Available beginning in late March. MSRP: $549.99.

how to compare with pro x2? you know Range is decreased depending on the density of the fog. Have used in mild fog with good results.

This looks so fugly. Z6 Jollt was simplistic and pure design. Less is more..
Also gone is the soft and deeper silicone ring around the eyepiece, now hard plastic.
    Progress? Hmmm

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
