Forum Thread of the Day: “2019 Accra TZ5 & TZ6 shafts”
Today’s Forum Thread of the Day showcases the 2019 Accra TZ5 & TZ6 shafts. The shafts have been met with resounding approval from our members on our forum, who almost to a man find them a thing of beauty, and are eager to find out just when they will hit the shelves.
For more photos, make sure to check out the full forum thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, and you can join the discussion at the link below.
- Ziggy16: “Yessssss love it. I had the chance to hit Accra shafts for the first time in 2018. I think they are some of the best feeling shafts I’ve ever swung. It’s between them and VA Composites, although I just saw Oban is now back in the game. Still, after all these years, the HB is still making a mark in my bag.”
- KMo23: “Have the TZP Proto in the Driver, can’t wait to find a weight and launch profile for a fairway wood. Lots of tour guys switching to this!”
- Oaks: “It’s the best feeling Shaft I can remember in a while. Reminds me of the old ACCRA feel that they were known for.”
- rpmspooner: “I had a chance to chat with Reid at Accra yesterday. They are extremely excited about the Tz5 and Tz6. I think they think this one is a home run. “Smoother mid section” was the response. If that is true, I don’t know who is going to compete with ACCRA this year. They already owned the smooth space in golf shafts.”

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
