Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Arm Locks now have the big bend shaft that adds the loft. That way production at Bettinardi is standard 3*.
Also that Atmos is a “Tour Spec” 6s. Tour Spec is essentially X for us mortals. But since there isn’t a standard on flexes what Fuji says is S could be X for another brand or even line.
I am interested on when he switched from the Steel Fibers. Believe he played 95’s so little bump in weight.

True Temper in his Irons? Did he had the Steelfiber in the irons in the year(s) before?

He just switched to the TT 105’s, he likes a soft flex in his irons. Some good looks of the shaft bands here. Still using the Aerofiber shaft in short clubs. Interesting bag and swing, Kuch is a throwback.

Interesting that he uses X flex in driver but S300s in his irons

It says S flex in the driver, can you read?

It is odd, but it looks like it is only X flex in his 3-wood and hybrids.

The RTX-3’s were a miss in my opinion the size and shape were large and awkward looking didn’t care for them much, but these RTX-4’s are a nice size and shape. Just beautiful and they perform!

70 degrees of loft on his putter, eh? That’s pretty sweet.

20* Hybrid to a 5 iron?

Would love to know the actual loft progression here. He’s definitely bent some things to make it flow for him. Likely 62 57 52 47 maybe? Then some bending at the top too to close that hybrid to 5 iron gap.

No. That’s the lie angle…loft is actually 3 deg.

I own that Anser 20. It’s short. That’s just a 4-iron these days… plays like a 22.
