Cobra launches limited edition Volition King F8, F8+ drivers to benefit Folds of Honor

Published

on

With Memorial Day on the horizon, Cobra wanted to do something to honor military members, and the company is extending its partnership with Volition America to launch a pair of exclusive drivers.

The King F8 Volition America drivers come in two colorways. The first: a Blue Camo pattern, taking inspiration from a military camouflage print.

The second, Desert Sand, is inspired by the colors of traditional military uniforms and military equipment. Both drivers are available in F8+ versions as well.

A portion of proceeds from the sale of the Volition drivers will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members.

Volition America is an organization built on a crusade to promote love of country, inspire people’s decisions and celebrate the power of choice. The Volition Golf Collection supports the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members.

Both the F8 and F8+ Volition America drivers will be available online and at retail on Friday, April 27, for $499.99 each.

Do active duty, prior service or rated VETS get a discount? That would be nice if we did.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
