FootJoy’s new 1857 shoes and apparel (2018 PGA Show Day 1)
FootJoy is throwing it all the way back to 1857 — the year the company came into existence — with its new 100 percent leather golf shoes and casual shoes. As part of the 1857 collection, FootJoy also has new suede shoes and a bevy of apparel.
The leather golf shoes and dress shoes, according to FootJoy, are made one-by-one by hand, and they take about 36 hours each to make.
The 1857 collection becomes available on July 1st, says the company. The cleated golf shoes will sell for “around $750,” the dress shoes will sell for “around $595,” and the Suede shoes will sell for “around $475.”
Check out more photos of the shoes and apparel below, and see all off our photos from the 2018 PGA Show here.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Someone at FJ needs to be fired along with all the other clowns who told him this was good work.

Those shoes look like the armor Gary Oldman wore in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

They have to be a collector’s item… since I know of no golf courses that allow spikes. Anybody out there miss the day of the sound of golf cleats in the parking lot of your favorite course, Sunday morning, click, click, click…

They all allow soft spikes. I don’t see any of these shoes with metal spikes. I know the word cleated was used, but I think it was misused.

At first glance, I thought it was body parts like ribs…then I looked again and it looked like bacon…to then realize it was a golf shoe. hmmm

Those gnarly looking shoes are something the Predator might wear.
