Shawn prefers to stay way up on the mountain rather than coming down to the hackers, duffers and assorted dregs asking him questions which he likely can’t answer.

Can you elaborate on ball position with woods and driver. You kind of briefly mentioned it at the end in last 30 seconds but its not super clear.

Are you just assuming the cg of the driver or wood is “XX” inches or cm from the face and put the CG in the centre of your stance?

Good question about driver ball position. Also the other 3 questions below are good, particularly the first question on open and close foot stance. I hope we get some answers from Shawn.

Looks like Shawn has dummied up and refuses to respond to valid questions. Reflects poorly on him.

If Clements refuses to respond to questions kick him off GolfWRX.

WOW!!!!! That was packed with a lot of great practical information. Thanks.
    Three questions:
    1. Do you open your stance for a fade and close for a draw in addition to ball positioning?
    2. When did you change your thinking from the old 9-ball flight laws to the Jorgensen D-plane ball dynamics with Trackman?
    3. Does the clubhead design affect ball flight control? Musclebacks better than GI and SGI clubs?

      SteveK,
What about offset or onset clubs? Round sole, flat, or with grinds? Beveled leading edge?
I’d go simply with what Lee Trevino said: put it back and hit down on it. As simple as that.

Titleist GTS driver fitting: 10 handicap vs. +4 handicap

Published

on

What happens when a 10 handicap and a +4 handicap go through a full driver fitting at one of the most advanced golf performance centers in the world? Brian Knudson and Andrew Von Lossow headed to the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, California, to find out.

Both players go through a complete Titleist GTS driver fitting with the Titleist fitting team to see how swing speed, launch conditions, strike location, shaft profile, and head setup can completely change performance off the tee. Even though the golfers have very different games, the fitting process reveals just how important proper equipment can be for maximizing distance, tightening dispersion, and improving consistency.

You will see how Titleist fitters analyze every part of the driver setup including loft, weighting, shaft selection, and head model to build a driver specifically for each player’s swing. While the skill levels, club head speeds, and desired outcomes are different both players show how deep and versatile the new Titleist GTS driver lineup is.
