Spotted: FootJoy DNA Helix Golf Shoes
Earlier this week at the Wells Fargo Championship, we photographed Adam Scott wearing a yet-to-be-announced pair of FootJoy golf shoes on the course. They appear to be FootJoy’s new DNA Helix golf shoes, and are rumored to hitting stores in August.
According to our boots on the ground, Max Homa was also wearing the new shoes.

They look good, definitely more modern looking coming from FJ.
Third version of the DNA named “Helix.” Wider platform sole making the shoe much more stable than both of its predecessors. Additional upgrades also including an integrated tongue design that will always stay centered and the bicycle toe stitching on the toe is back. FJ is hoping to see their staffers move back into this shoe and have their flagship offering be No. 1.

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.
“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

I hope the quality is better. I recently got a pair of Pro SL’s and am disappointed with some of the stitching and padding. Not normal FJ quality. I ordered online from TGW and the problems weren’t bad enough to go through the hassle of sending them back but I’m not very happy considering how much they cost.

There’s a 90 day guarantee on quality. Why wouldn’t you return it? You may have just gotten the tune of the litter. I love my Pro SLs so much I bought every color. Never had a single issue with any.

Nice move. The second DNAs where absolutely horrible. Whoever made that change needs to be takin out back and beaten with Tigers cane.

That was actually tour player input that inspired the change on the 2.0. They wanted a cleaner look when looking down at address. Really excited for these new DNA! Much more stable platform, comfortable shoe but the lack of stability on side hill lies especially made me not like the first two versions as much. Excited for the new ones!

You say it was Tour player input, yet all but maybe 2 players who had worn the original DNA’s continued wearing them when the 2.0’s were released. Sounds like BS to me. The only thing that would’ve made a difference at address would’ve been the toe. They changed that for the 2.0 but then they added that ridiculous stripe down the side, which is no doubt the reason so many players stopped wearing them. Aside from the toe stitching, which I wasn’t a fan of, the original design was perfect: modern yet classic. Had the clean all-white look with just a splash of color on the heal. The stripe on the side of the 2.0 killed any chance of Tour pros wearing them. Glad they finally realized the error of their ways but I think if they stuck with the design of the original but ditched the “bicycle” toe stitching it’d be absolutely perfect.
