Fourteen Golf launches RM-22 wedges
If you look through our weekly PGA Tour photos, you know that Fourteen Golf’s line of RM wedges are a sneaky popular choice. Now, the company has released its new RM-22 wedges, which feature some changes to what the company calls “reverse muscle-back technology,” also seen in previous lines of RM wedges.
The Reverse-Muscle design raises center of gravity (CG), allowing players to create more spin than they would otherwise. The new wedges have more progressively engineered blades and soles, with different different designs in the lower-lofted wedges than in the mid-to-high lofted wedges.
Here’s how it works, from Fourteen Golf:
According to a representative of Fourteen Golf, the 41, 44 and 47-degree wedges are designed to “help flight them more like the irons they would be replacing.” The 56-12, 58-12 and 60-10 wedges will play better with a open face and have higher launch and lower spin with a square face, according to the representative.
Specs
The RM-22 wedges, made from forged Nickel Chrome Molybdenum, which is a “very durable metal,” will be offered in both a nickel-chrome plated pearl stain finish, and a non-plated matte black finish. Stock shafts will be True Temper Dynamic Gold and Nippon N.S. Pro 950GH HT, and the wedges will sell for about $185 depending on the retailer, according to Fourteen Golf.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Wedges are the same, just different grinds that are pre ground for regular golfers. That and buying new wedges when the old ones are worn out.
