Mickelson re-signs with Callaway Golf

Published

on

Phil Mickelson has signed a multi-year contract extension with Callaway Golf.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Phil,” said Callaway Golf President & CEO Chip Brewer. “He has meant so much to Callaway, and he continues to inspire us to develop the most innovative equipment in golf.”

Mickelson joined Callaway’s Tour Staff in 2004, and has since won 19 professional events that includes four major championships.

“When I joined the team at Callaway 10 years ago, I knew I was making the best decision of my career,” Mickelson said. “And I feel even stronger about that decision today. Backed by innovative technologies, industry-leading products, and the outstanding R&D group that works so closely with me, I honestly believe that these next few years will be the best of my career.”

Mickelson, 44, is currently the No. 11-ranked golfer in the world.

Evan is an attorney licensed to practice law in Michigan. He's also a dedicated golfer with an obsession for the latest golf equipment, and frequently gets caught in public examining his swing in any reflective surface.

    Michelson 44? I think that’s an error.

How much gambling debt did they cover this time?

Only the gambles that Phil takes on the course – some of which he is legendary, others of which he was “such an idiot.” This has to be the biggest no-brainer of all time in regards to equipment. Phil might as well have a seat right next to Phil Brewer at Callaway.

Phil is arguably the most polarizing player in golf. Whether or not re-signing with Callaway is his ticket to glory is the ultimate question. Phil Brewer had it right when he said “If I am the King of Calloway then Phil is my Jester”. Stay tuned.

I dare Phil Michelson to try using a PROBE 20/10 N putter with Break Reduction Technology! He’d make more short breaking putts and move up in status worldwide!

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
