Puma introduces Faas Lite Mesh 2.0

Published

on

Today, Puma Golf announced its release of the Faas Lite Mesh 2.0, a comfortable performance sneaker disguised as a golf shoe. Weighing just 6.8 ounces, the 2.0’s are lightweight, versatile, spikeless, and changing the feel of footwear on the golf course.

The 2.0 model takes features from the original Faas Lite Mesh shoes, and combines them with different style, additional heel comfort, bonded construction and thermoplastic urethane (TPU) support. New enhancements on the shoe will increase comfort and stability for on-course performance and off-course enjoyment.

The Faas Lite 2.0 combines technology with comfort and style, creating a shoe that you will want to wear whether you’re walking 36, grabbing dinner with your friends after a round, or even heading to the gym,” said Grant Knudson, head of footwear for Puma Golf.” The 2.0 version includes new, strategically placed support pieces that provides increased stability and added support during your swing.”

Puma Golf utilizes technology in areas of comfort, performance, and visual appeal in their newest release. A single layer of mesh enhances breathability and reduces weight, while SmartQuil traction provides directional grip elements to improve stability and ground contact. An Ortholite Sockliner provides increased cushioning, and a stitchless, mid-foot support paddle lends added reinforcement throughout the golf swing.

Also featured in the shoe is FaasFoam+, a blend of foam and rubber that is 25 percent lighter than previously used foam, according to the company. EverFoam in the collar allows the shoe to shape around the contours of a golfers’ foot, and a new mesh tongue increases comfort and further breathability. A high abrasion resistant carbon rubber on the bottom of the shoe ensures lasting durability.

With an MSRP of $90, the Faas Lite Mesh will be available on June 1 in three colorways, Turbulence/White/Grenadine, White/Black/Crimson and White/Turbulence. Each shoe comes with two lace options allowing golfers to customize the look they want.

He played on the Hawaii Pacific University Men's Golf team and earned a Masters degree in Communications. He also played college golf at Rutgers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

The only thing golf related about these shoes is the word golf written on them. Three times.

You don’t need that on real golf shoes.

I like to call a pair of trainers a pair of trainers and that’s all these look like to me. What possible grip or levels of comfort do these offers over a cheap pairs of trainers from target?

I currently using the faas lite. It really comfortable, lightweighted and provide me more than enough grip. The only thing I would concern about these shoes is durability.

“SmartQuil traction provides directional grip elements to improve stability and ground contact.”

If you look at the bottom you’ll notice that these have more traction than your regular show.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Check out Shipley’s full what’s in the bag and the rest of his wedge stampings here on “Inside the Ropes” from Colonial.
