Puma’s new Biofusion Spikeless Mesh

Published

on

Puma Golf has announced the release of the new Biofusion Spikeless Mesh, the newest member of the Biofusion line for 2014. Lighter weight and spikeless, it’s the more versatile version to the newly released Biofusion Tour.

“Designed on a completely new anatomical last, the shoe provides ultimate fit, performance and comfort through all 18 holes,” said Grant Knudson, footwear manager of PUMA Golf, in a press release. “Plus, its spikeless silhouette, wrapped in our new waterproof mesh, is designed for wear off the course, as well.”

Puma anticipates the biggest draw of the Biofusion Spikeless Mesh will be the carbon-rubber outsole, which it promotes as ensuring excellent grip and lasting durability, while Puma’s SmartQuill technology will keep golfers planted during their swings.

The OrthoLite sockliner and Everfoam in the middle of the shoe provides a comfortable fit, feel and air circulation to keep golfers’ feet cool during and after the round, according to Puma. The shoe also features a 1-year waterproof-guaranteed mesh upper that will provides a breathable, athletic fit and feel on the course, at the same time providing a stylish look for the 19th hole.

Puma will release the Biofusion Spikeless Mesh in three colors starting March 1. It will sell for $120 in Yellow/Black/White, Black/White/Vibrant Orange and Tradewinds/White/Lime Green colorways.

I think they are heading in the right direction. Their spikes were a little unrealistic for a bit.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping

Published

on

Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.

That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.

On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”

On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”

“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.
