Photos from the PNC Father/Son Challenge
GolfWRX is live from the 2013 PNC Father/Son Challenge at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. The 20-team field featuring hall-of-famers and seasoned veterans boasts 497 wins in total across the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, and Web.com Tour. To qualify, players must have won either a major or the Players Championship
This year, Stewart Cink and his son Connor Cink won in their first appearance at the event with a 61-61, 23-under finish. They topped a field full of household names, and their sons, including Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Hale Irwin, Lee Trevino, Vijay Singh, Davis Love III, Raymond Floyd, and the relatively young David Duval.
Most players chose to play with their male offspring, but Bernhard Langer played with his daughter Christina, and Fuzzy Zoeller played with his daughter Gretchen.
Check out the photos from this year’s father/son event in Orlando.

Neal Shipley, AKA, the “Big Fridge’s,” custom stamping
Neal Shipley was the first to admit that he enjoyed his food while in college. But since his days at Ohio State, he’s slimmed down and earned a PGA Tour Card.
That hasn’t stopped him from having fun with his wedge stampings, though it’s led to some misunderstandings.
On the 54 (degree), we have ‘Big Fudge,'” Shipley told GolfWRX. “It was supposed to be ‘Big Fridge,’ so this happened a little while ago. ‘Big Fridge’ was a nickname between my college teammates and I, with ‘fridge’ meaning stomach, a big stomach.

“We told the Ping guys to put … ‘Big Fridge’ on it, and I think maybe some bad cell service or something, and they thought I said ‘fudge,’ so they put fudge on it.”
On Shipley’s 50-degree he also continues the food theme, this time with his go-to order at the “Golden Arches,” and his stamping “DONS 7.”
“The number 7 meal, the two cheeseburger meal, that was my McDonald’s order, back when I would have McDonald’s frequently,” Shipley shared.

Love the look of the JNP’s. Anyone know if they are available at retail?

Nope, the JNP’s are no longer made. I use to play Nicklaus CT, driver and today I only have the hybrids left since JN does not make blades anymore so I shifted to Titleist. But they are truly magnificent. I checked with their Europe office

The “JNP” blades in Mr. Nicklaus’ bag are ridiculous! They have a reticent aesthetic while screaming player at the same time. I’d really like to get my hand on a set of those!!!!
